Hey all! My name is Andrea. I’m an almost second year university student, and a friend recently got me hooked on the anime and manga, Naruto. From there, I discovered the adorable world of chibi, and, well, I figured out I could draw them too (which is a feat…I’m not the best artist in the world…). But chibi are super cute and super fun to draw. For those who are unaware, chibi is a form of Japanese manga (manga is the drawn, and original, form of the animated anime). It is characterized by exaggerated cuteness, which is helped along by big heads and small bodies, large, adorable eyes, simple, rounded lines and features, and big, crazy hair. As a result, chibi usually look very young, and many people choose to draw infant or toddler versions of their favourite anime or manga characters using chibi. This is fun, and results in some hilarious images, but you can do more with chibi than that. Draw yourself, or your friends, a favourite teacher, anything you want to, really. And have fun with it. In any case, while I may not be an expert on manga or anime, I enjoy it, and drawing is a great hobby. So I decided, hey, why not blog about my chibi drawing adventures, post my drawings, how to tutorials, and other fun facts about chibi. So welcome to CHIBI MONDE!! The world of chibi is open to everyone!
